Mark Bowen

I am a former electrical engineer, current emergency department medical scribe, and aspiring physician based in the Denver area. My work sits at the intersection of crisis, complexity, and the possibility of healing.

I am married to my best friend, Lauren, and when we aren't planning our next motorcycle trip or traveling, I spend my time fighting the "liquid slide" of modern isolation by building community in physical rooms.

Currently, I run the St. Bertha of Kent Society—a monthly circular and intellectual scene in Denver built around Borges, sequences, essays, and SCOTUS. I believe that the communal intelligence of a scene ("scenius") is more powerful than lone genius, and that the minor friction of showing up prepared to think clearly and speak seriously is the entire point.
